Suzanne Shaw is celebrating four years of sobriety.

The 42-year-old shared an inspiring post on Instagram on Thursday in which she discussed her decision to quit alcohol.

Suzanne put together a montage video to mark the milestone, which included clips of herself calling herself “embarrassing” when she drank and telling fans that it was “time to get out of the booze trap” free from a hangover” and living her best life.

The montage included videos of herself now fitter and healthier, as well as clips of her with bottles of wine and being the version of herself she supposedly no longer wants to be.

The former Hear'Say singer captioned the post: “4. January 2020 I promised myself… to respect, love and care for myself.”

She insisted: “To no longer live a life that fits into society by putting myself in poor mental and, no doubt, poor physical condition.”

“It was time to commit to a life you could be proud of.”

The TV personality continued: “I used to imagine myself being healthy and going on adventures, sharing my wellness journey and knowledge and helping to raise mental health awareness, and today that's exactly what I'm doing, what I do.”

“I push my limits, care for my well-being, share my story and coach others to a healthier lifestyle.”

Suzanne reached out to anyone thinking about following in her footsteps, urging them to “choose you and your health and happiness.”

The star continued: “If you're on a wellness mission or taking a break from alcohol, here are my top three tips… 1. Commit – own your decision and know why.”

'2. Consistency – small steps every day. Break it down into one job and prioritize your well-being on a daily basis.

'3. Community – surround yourself with supportive people who will help you and motivate you to keep going. Join groups, follow inspiring wellness accounts, read books, listen to podcasts, watch documentaries.”

Suzanne's post comes after she opened up about her struggles with depression and anxiety in a 2021 interview.

“I have struggled with depression and anxiety for more than 18 years,” she told Runner's World. “But it wasn’t until recently that I felt ready to talk about it because I wanted things to change.”

The singer and actress has turned to running as a form of therapy.

“I have to run at least three times a week now, otherwise I feel like I'm missing out on my therapy,” she shared at the time. “I love it because it gives me the freedom to deal with what’s going on in my life.”

“Since switching to a plant-based diet, daily meditation and a more mindful approach to life, I feel so energized. I just wish I had discovered running sooner.”
