According to the official Irna agency, the terrorist group Daesh (Islamic State) claimed responsibility for Wednesday's attacks in the city in southeastern Iran.
In a statement released the previous day, Daesh said two of its members, Omar al-Movahed and Saifollah al-Mujahid, detonated the explosive belts in the two operations that resulted in more than 300 casualties, including dead and wounded.
The explosions occurred near the Kerman Martyrs' Cemetery, where thousands of people commemorated the fourth anniversary of the death of General Qasem Soleimani, the Quds Force commander who was killed by the United States in a drone strike in Iraq in January 2020.
Stating that such a cowardly terrorist attack will not deter the Iranian nation from its goals of fighting oppression and injustice, Raisi said that no support from foreign powers would create a safe zone for the agents involved in this crime.
In recent years, the Islamic Republic of Iran has been the target of constant attacks, character attacks and destabilization attempts, for which the Persian authorities directly blame the United States, Israel and some European Union nations.
In recent months, Iranian intelligence services have dismantled several terrorist networks with proven links to the Mossad (Israeli secret service), the CIA and other European spy agencies.
In late September last year, at least 28 Daesh-linked terrorists were arrested by Iranian intelligence services in simultaneous operations coordinated with the armed forces of Tehran, Alborz and West Azerbaijan provinces.
