The United States announced on Friday (5) that it will offer up to 10 million US dollars (48.75 million R$) for information on five financiers of the terrorist group Hamas, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (an entity equivalent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs) reported.
The Americans are also offering a reward for information about the Palestinian group's financial mechanisms.
Since Hamas attacked Israeli territory on October 7, the US has announced four rounds of financial sanctions aimed at stopping funding for the group's activities.
Rewards are offered for information about Hamas' sources of income, major donors, financial institutions that facilitate transactions for Hamas, shell companies that purchase dualuse technology for the group, and criminal activities that benefit Hamas.
The names are mentioned in the statement:
- Abdelbasit Hamza Elhassan Khair,
- Amer Kamal Sharif Alsshawa,
- Ahmed Sadu Jahleb,
- Walid Mohammed Mustafa Jadallah and
- Muhammad Ahmad 'Abd AlDayim Nasrallah.
All were already considered terrorists before the attack on Israel on October 7, the ministry said in a statement.
The first financier, known as Hamza, is based in Sudan, managed several companies in Hamas' investment portfolio and was involved in transferring nearly $20 million to Hamas, the ministry said. According to the US government, he is linked to former Sudanese President Omar Bashir and Islamic groups that undermine stability in Sudan.
Three of the Hamas operatives named Amer Kamal Sharif Alsshawa, Ahmed Sadu Jahleb and Walid Mohammed Mustafa Jadallah are part of the group's investment network in Turkey.
Nasrallah has close ties to Iranian entities and was involved in transferring tens of millions of dollars to Hamas, including its military wing, the agency said. His last location, recorded in October, suggested the terrorist was living in Qatar.
