A Hollywood actor and his two young daughters are feared dead after four bodies were recovered from a plane that crashed into the sea off a Caribbean island on Thursday.
Christian Oliver, 51, whose real name is Christian Klepser and who has appeared in films such as Speed Racer, The Good German and Valkyrie, was on board the plane when it encountered difficulties and landed in the sea. according to the Royal Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force.
According to police, among the dead were his daughters Madita Klepser (10) and Annik Klepser (12) as well as the pilot and owner of the plane, Robert Sachs.
According to police, the single-engine plane had just taken off Thursday afternoon from Becquia, a small island popular with tourists that is part of the Caribbean nation of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Their destination was the island of St. Lucia, 65 miles north.
Days earlier, Oliver posted a photo of a beach sunset on his Instagram account, wishing his followers a happy new year “from somewhere in paradise.”
Local fishermen and divers rushed to the scene before the coast guard recovered four bodies, which were declared dead. The bodies were taken to a mortuary in San Vicente, where autopsies will officially determine the cause of death.
Police said they “express their condolences to all those negatively affected by this tragic incident.”
Christian Oliver was originally from Frankfurt, Germany. He played a detective in the long-running German television series “Alarm für Cobra 11,” about a team of street cops, and has a long list of television and film credits, including “Saved by the Bell: The New Class.”
