The noble reason why Liverpool and Arsenal won't wear red in their FA Cup match

Liverpool and Arsenal will play a great game this Sunday, January 7th at the Emirates Stadium in the third round of the season FA Cup. This game will not only serve to keep one of these teams in contention in this competition, but will also be marked by a noble cause from both teams; since they won't be wearing red.

The team of Mikel Arteta She will ditch her classic outfit and wear an all-white one. Even the sign will look different than what we normally see every weekend. Likewise that of Jurgen Klopp They will ditch their 'Reds' nickname this weekend and wear their purple third jersey as part of the 'No More Red' initiative.

What is the No More Red initiative and what does it have to do with youth violence?

In fact, the Gunners launched this campaign in 2022 and this will be the third season in a row that they have not used the color red to raise awareness of youth violence and knife crime.

“Young people face many challenges growing up in today’s world and we don’t have all the answers; “But we are confident that by acting together and highlighting the support network available in our community, we can make a meaningful contribution to the lives of our participants,” said Freddie Hudson, head of the Arsenal in the Community initiative.

The campaign was also joined by players from Anfield who, although originally planning to take to the Emirates Stadium pitch in the classic red colour, decided to wear the purple jersey to support Arsenal's initiative.
