A thrift expert has stunned the internet after revealing the secret trick to searching for priceless items in thrift stores.
Marie Chane from Texas shared a video on TikTok of her friend buying wine glasses at the thrift store.

In the clip, which has been viewed more than 10.1 million times so far, Marie recorded her fellow shopper “explaining the difference between crystal and non-crystal.”
Her friend continued, “To figure out if something is pure crystal glass or just regular glass, you do a little 'shock test.'
Then she flicked her finger along the edge of the glass and listened to the sound that followed.
“If it’s just about one person [short] “Ring, it’s glass,” the driver explained.
“The difference with crystal is that you hear the sound like a chime.”
After figuring out which of the two items in her hands was made of crystal, she revealed that the high-quality item was selling for just $1 at the thrift store.
The woman added: “Chances are it's something like Waterford or Mikasa or one of those brands.”
Given that crystal products often command high prices, searching for similar secondhand products can save consumers from spending hundreds of dollars.

For the talent show portion of the competition, Gracie used crystal wine glasses filled with varying amounts of water to create harmony.
