The popular American group Green Day is back with their fourteenth album. savior, January 19th. Green Day, who have been on the road full of irreverence since 1987 and became stars with the release of the album Dookie in 1994, does not seem to have said his last word yet. 2. Back with Rob Cavallo
The group, which is celebrating the 20th anniversary of “American Idiot” and the 30th anniversary of “Dookie” this year, decided to work with director Rob Cavallo again for “Saviors.” The latter also worked on Dookie (1994), Insomniac (1995), Nimrod (1997), American Idiot (2004) and !Uno¡ (2012).
3. A final excerpt on the subject of alcohol addiction
After sharing the excerpts “The American Dream Is Killing Me” and “Look Ma, No Brains!”, Green Day released the final single before the album's release, Dilemma. In a powerful video clip, we see singer Billie Joe Armstrong singing in the middle of a drunken evening: “I was sober, now I'm drunk again.”
In a press release, the previously alcoholic artist stated: “Dilemma was one of those songs that was easy to write because it was very personal to me. We have seen many of our peers struggle with addictions and mental health issues. This song is about the pain that comes from his experiences.”
4. In Osheaga in 2024
Green Day is one of Osheaga's headliners alongside Noah Kanan and SZA! After the release of “Saviors,” the band will embark on a world tour, which will also stop in Toronto on August 1st. Osheaga takes place August 2-4 at Jean-Drapeau Park.
5. Listen to the album before anyone else!
Good news for fans! On Wednesday afternoon, Green Day announced on its social media that the full album will be available to listen to starting January 13th at several independent record stores around the world, including 33 Tours in Montreal.
