At approximately 11:45 a.m. on Dec. 22, police were called to respond to a possible death at a building on Zion Avenue.

“Essentially family members from out of town were at a residence and found a body in a freezer. They immediately called the police,” San Diego police said.

After the autopsy, investigators were able to determine that the remains were those of Magaret Haxby-Jones. The now 81-year-old woman was reported missing nine years ago. According to initial information, she may have lived in the apartment where she was found sooner or later.

“The cause of death has not yet been determined and is still being investigated by the coroner. However, no obvious traumatic injuries to the body were found,” police added, stating that an investigation was launched taking into account the circumstances in which Ms Haxby-Jones was found.
