How is the fighting taking place in Gaza?
One of the goals of the war in Gaza is Dismantling Hamas' military capabilities built and used over the years October 7th massacre.

How is the fight?

Dismantling Hamas has five goals:
First goal: Eliminate Hamas commanders wherever they are and disrupt their system of hierarchy and control.
In these attacks, the IDF eliminated the commander of the Jabaliya battalion, the deputy commander of a brigade and 11 company commanders the squadron that leads terrorists on the battlefield.
The main terrorist that the IDF eliminated in Gaza is Ahmed Ran'Dourthe commander of the Northern Division, who was killed along with other commanders in his bunker 40 meters underground.
The assassination of the commanders complicated the terrorists' organized fight and led to the surrender of many Hamas fighters.
Second goal: Fight against terrorists.
Israeli forces surrounded the Jabaliya region. Joint forces of tanks (200 tanks), infantry and special forces surrounded the area from several directions simultaneously. All of this is accompanied by intelligence support and air support from dozens of aircraft that quickly engage threats.
Ground troops directed fighter aircraft that attacked nearly three hundred targets.
A The cooperation between the air force and ground forces is unprecedented. There has never been anything like this in a war before. Even during these times, Air Force aircraft continue to accompany ground forces and attack any target the armed forces need.
IDF fighters fight bravely and destroy terrorist groups firing from houses, tunnel shafts and alleys.
The armed forces engage in handtohand combat with terrorists. According to IDF reports, the forces have eliminated around a thousand terrorists in Jabaliya alone. The fight against terrorism is complex and has its price: casualties and, unfortunately, deaths among the Israeli armed forces.
Today we announce the death of Lieutenant Colonel Roi Yochai Yosef Mordechai Zikarno Labarcha, who was killed in clashes with terrorists in the north of the Gaza Strip.
Roy was an excellent commander and fighter. Before his fall, it was agreed that he would be appointed commander of the 50th Battalion of the Nahal Brigade. We hug his family and all those left behind and will continue to support them.
We learn from every incident and improve to reduce the number of victims.
In every incident that results in casualties in the field, our armed forces provide medical treatment and rescue, risking lives, using medical teams and Rescue Unit 669 in Air Force helicopters. (We have rescued hundreds of injured people, saving their lives.)
Third goal: Collect information on site.

Fourth goal: Locate and destroy missiles, weapons and the places where they are made.
We approximately located and destroyed 40,000 weapons across the Gaza Strip. We found some in schools, hospitals, mosques and under children's beds.
Fifth goal: destroy underground infrastructure.
In Jabaliya alone we discovered 8 kilometers of underground tunnels and more than forty tunnel entrances. Along the route we located Hamas' northern headquarters.
Nearby, we rescued the bodies of five kidnapped people and brought them to Israel for burial.
To combat underground infrastructure, we are introducing covert technological measures. Afterwards, special forces trained for the mission entered and we finally destroyed the structure.
We are also active in Bases installed by Hamas in hospitals. These are bases where Hamas terrorists believed we would avoid conducting operations, but they were wrong. Terrorists installed underground infrastructure, weapons and military equipment in the region's two hospitals, Kamal Adwan and the Indonesian Hospital.
