Ellie Leach has “broken her Glitterball Trophy” just weeks after winning the coveted possession of the ball in the Strictly Come Dancing final.
A friend of the 22-year-old former Coronation Street actress has revealed Ellie was “eviscerated” after breaking the trophy, but confirmed the issue is being fixed.
The Strictly star and her professional dance partner Vito Coppola, 31, both received mini versions of the iconic Glitterball Trophy to take home and keep.
But for Ellie, the delicate plastic lettering “broke off” just weeks after she received the sake.
According to The Sun, a source said: “Ellie was disappointed she couldn't show off her trophy after so many of her friends were keen to hold it.”

It comes after Strictly Come Dancing winners Ellie and Vito Coppola saw the New Year in very different ways.
Ellie posted snaps on Instagram from New Year's Eve before her night out with a friend, while Vito, 31, frolicked on his family's farm in Italy.
The former Coronation Street actress showed off her toned pins in a lime green miniskirt and matching blazer, giving fans a glimpse of her enviable abs.
Vito's New Year's Instagram upload was a little different as he told his 309,000 followers that he had been quiet because he was busy working with his family.
The professional dancer captioned a video: “Even though I'm a little dirty and messy, I didn't want to miss this special day to wish you all a happy 2024.”
“I am very grateful for everything that happens in my life and I have no filter to share it with you because my followers know how much I don't take anything for granted and how much I appreciate the little things.”
