Rob Halford, legendary lead singer of the band Judas Priest, has shared a video message celebrating his 38-year absence from alcohol and drugs.

The 72-year-old musician shared the video in question on social media. In it he says: “Hello everyone. One day at a time, for 38 years. Thank you higher powers, family, friends, metalheads, my godfather Bob for giving me these commemorative coins which I treasure very much…”

“Each of you contributes to making this 'Anniversary of Sobriety' a reality. Yesterday has passed. Tomorrow is unexplored. Today is the only thing that matters. Prayer, awareness, change, help – the simple things in life are the most important.”

He adds: “To those of you who are walking the same path as me: keep walking.” For those of you who may be ready to take the first step, a wonderful new life full of unconditional awaits you with open arms Blessings, love and acceptance. I am so happy and grateful for every moment I spend with all of you.”

He concludes by saying, “Thanks again everyone. I love you very much.”
