An agreement in principle is presented to the 420,000 members of the common front – Le Soleil

The Common Front confirmed on Sunday that at the end of the meetings held in its intermediate bodies, the possible agreement reached with the Treasury Board at the end of December represents an agreement in principle that will be presented to its members.

Employee consultations take place from mid-January to mid-February. Union members will vote on the agreement in principle concluded at the central table, where salary issues were discussed, but also on the agreement concluded at the sector tables, where specific issues for each employment group were discussed.

“Our members have the say,” said the first vice-president of the CSN, François Enault, at a press conference, recalling that they will decide for themselves whether they consider this agreement to be fundamentally satisfactory.

“It is certain that we present it because it is interesting,” added the president of the CSQ, Éric Gingras.

For her part, the President of the FTQ, Magali Picard, made it clear that the agreement is in principle “recommended” to the members of the FTQ.

The agreement in principle presented to members provides for salary increases of 17.4% over five years, including 6% in the first year, and a purchasing power protection clause of up to 1% for the last three years of the employment contract.

It also includes improvements to group insurance. Regarding the pension plan, the Joint Front argued that some improvements had been achieved and major setbacks avoided.

Union members of the Common Front, which includes APTS, walked off the job for 11 days in November and December.
