Protect your data on the Internet optimally thanks to KITTENS – AirZen

The collective of alternative, transparent, open, neutral and solidarity hosts, CHATONS, was founded by the Framasoft association to fight against the online omnipresence of GAFAM (Google, Apple, Facebook, Amazon, Microsoft). CHATONS therefore brings together structures that offer free, ethical and decentralized online services. These services can be free software such as word processing software, group calling software, etc.

This free software can be found on any internet-connected device and is offered for free. The CHATONS collective thus highlights groups or individuals who develop these solutions. The aim is to bring these usage options closer to the user.

CHATONS also addresses the issue of online data protection. When a user uses the software offered by GAFAM, the data shared becomes directly the property of these large companies.

In order to preserve this data in the best possible way, the software developed by CHATONS is committed to transparency. In doing so, they underline neutrality within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Baptiste Malet-Schalck is a member of CHATONS and says he wants to resist Internet Googling.

The collective is also working to reduce the digital divide. After all, the S in Solidaire in CHATONS means a lot to the members. Baptiste explains that members do not hesitate to share their knowledge to help other structures.
