Lisa Bonet and Jason Momoa are one step closer to their ultimate “freedom.”

According to new court documents obtained by TMZ, Bonet, 56, has asked the judge to dissolve the marriage. The ex-partners were together for twelve years and married for almost five years.

The actress gives the date of separation as October 7, 2020.

The couple share a daughter, Lola Iolani Momoa, 16, and a son, Nakoa-Wolf Manakauapo Namakaeha Momoa, 15.

“And so we break the news to our family that we are parting ways. We share this not because we think it is newsworthy, but so that we can live our lives with dignity and honesty.”

“The love between us continues and evolves in a way that it wants to be known and lived,” they added. “We free each other to be who we want to become,” the statement continued. “Our unwavering devotion to this holy life and our children.
