The accident occurred late in the morning on Route 122, a few meters before the curve, a few hundred meters from Boulevard Foucault in Saint-Charles.
The driver of the vehicle left the road, skidded and landed in the ditch. Paramedics and police officers from the Sûreté du Québec were dispatched to the scene, while witnesses to the accident were concerned about the driver's health.
According to a witness twenty55 met on site, the driver appeared to have missed the curve. » He was driving in front of a tow truck and suddenly turned, left the lane at a good speed, crossed the oncoming lane, then turned and rolled over in order to no longer drive against the flow in the ditch, according to the witness who met on site.
According to the driver's version presented to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) police officer and Vingt55, he was carrying out a road test to assess a mechanical problem on a branded car when braking problems occurred. “I actually managed to avoid any contact with other vehicles,” the driver explains to Vingt55. This version provided to the officer actually explains leaving the road even though no other vehicle was involved in the collision.
The police met the driver on site. He managed to escape from the scrap heap. After an assessment by paramedics, he refused transport, confirmed by the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).
While paramedics examined the driver, there were traffic delays and the tow truck towed away the badly damaged vehicle.
