Anatomy of a fall He turned heads at the Cannes Film Festival, where he won the Palme d'Or in May, and at the Golden Globes on Sunday, where he won awards for best foreign language film and best screenplay.
But Justine Triet's film is now illustrated in a different, darker way by its protagonist, Samuel Theis. Libération and Télérama have in fact revealed that the 45-year-old actor was accused of rape by a technician from the last film he directed, I swear, with Louise Bourgoin, Marina Foïs and Anaïs Demoustier and shot last summer becomes.
The complainant claims he was raped by the star on a very drunken evening on June 30. Samuel Theis, for his part, explains that it was a consensual relationship with the young man.
But the affair caused a stir in the technical team, as Libération writes, and the production had to deal with the crisis. The publication therefore shows that the technician in question has resigned from his position and has had all his fees paid. He was also offered legal assistance and an emergency protocol was put in place to deal with the most urgent matters and conduct internal investigations.
The filmmaker was therefore subjected to a curfew to protect the teams and continue filming. Samuel Theis had to notify the team if he wanted to intervene on set to allow those who wanted to avoid his presence. Conversely, those who wanted to see him could visit him free of charge in a separate room provided for this purpose. An unprecedented filming situation to say the least.
