Produced by Sphere Media (Cerebrum, One Way, Transplant), the comedy-drama appears alongside big guns from HBO such as The Regime (starring Kate Winslet) and True Detective: Night Country (starring Jodie Foster).
Filmed in English and offered in French on ICI Tou.tv Extra, In some sort (Sort Of, in the original version) paints the portrait of Sabi Mehboob, a millennial with different orientations and multiple identities: bartender in a bar/bookstore LGBTQ, youngest Child of a Pakistani family and de facto parent of a hipster family in downtown Toronto. According to the New York Times, Sorta is “understated, perfectly timed and self-consciously whimsical.”
Full of good feelings, this coming-of-age story airs on CBC in English Canada. The series is also distributed on HBO Max in the USA. The New York Times also picked shows like “Expats,” a Prime Video offering starring Nicole Kidman, “Avatar: The Last Airbender,” due on Netflix Feb. 22, and “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” its 12th and final season begins on February 4th on HBO.
