The major snowstorm expected in several regions of Quebec on Tuesday evening is forcing many schools to close their doors on Wednesday, January 10th.

This is particularly true for all schools in the Estuaire School Service Center on the North Shore.
“Students must therefore stay at home, but employees are obliged to prefer teleworking as much as possible when carrying out their work,” the website says.
The Cégep de Sept-Îles also announced that its premises will remain closed on Wednesday.
Esther-Blondin College will also be closed on January 10th.
This also applies to the Saint-François school in the Quebec region.

For its part, the University of Quebec in Trois-Rivières is asking its professors who are able to offer their courses remotely on Wednesday.
“The courses and other training activities planned on site will therefore be offered in virtual mode,” the website reads. As for education that cannot be provided remotely, professors and lecturers must maintain their activities in person.”
The Collège Sainte Anne de la Pocatière has also decided to hold its courses online.
For its part, the Laurentides School Service Center canceled on Tuesday evening all adult and vocational training courses that were scheduled to take place in its facilities.
Many other school service centers say they are closely monitoring the situation, while a decision to close a school is typically made before 6:30 a.m.
Accumulations of up to 40 centimeters of snow are expected in some places by Wednesday afternoon.
