Adan Canto, actor known for "The cleaning lady" And "Designated Survivor"dies at age 42

(CNN) – Actor Adan Canto, known for his roles in “The Cleaning Lady” and “Designated Survivor,” has died. He was 42 years old.

Canto died Monday of appendix cancer, according to his representative Jennifer Allen, who said in a statement to CNN that Canto “had a depth of spirit that few truly knew.”

“Those who saw it were forever changed,” Allen’s statement said. “Many of us will miss him very much.”

Canto was born in Mexico and grew up in Texas. He was a talented actor and musician who starred in the Fox series The Cleaning Lady, the third season of which was filming at the time of his death. Allen said Canto has not yet started work on the new season.

Canto was also known for his roles in “Designated Survivor,” “Narcos,” and “Blood and Oil,” among others. His film credits include “X-Men: Days of Future Past” and “Agent Game.”
