Toxic Secrets Debate and Screening on Pesticides – Midi Libre

Toxic Secrets: Debate and Screening on Pesticides – Midi Libre

After the Cévennes, Loire-Atlantique, Aveyron and Bouches-du-Rhône, Secrets Toxiques is organizing the fourteenth stage of its Tour de France in Hérault from January 11th to 18th.

Secrets Toxiques is a coalition of almost 80 associations and unions that has been fighting since December 2020 to demand real control of the toxicity of pesticides before their marketing and to advocate for the effective application of European pesticide regulations. This requires that pesticides be proven to have no harmful effects on health or the environment before they are approved.

The aim of the “Toxic Secrets” campaign is to raise public awareness about the underestimation of the toxicity of approved pesticides. This Citizens' Tour de France aims to achieve a change in pesticide approval practices to address health threats and the ongoing destruction of biodiversity. In Saint-Martin-de-Londres, the associations Fabules, Pic'assiette and the cinema collective Les Étoiles du Pic are organizing an evening with the screening of a 58 – minute film followed by a discussion with Philippe Piard, co-president of Secrets Toxiques.

Reception from 8 p.m., film screening at 8:30 p.m., entry: €5. More information on the website: Secretstoxiques.fr
