India opens commercial event in the presence of high dignitaries

In addition to leaders Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan from the United Arab Emirates; José Ramos-Horta from Timorese and Filipe Nyusi from Mozambique, more than 200 delegates are attending the meeting in Gandhinagar, including representatives from 34 countries and 16 international organizations.

Themed “Gateway to the Future,” the event runs until Friday with a program focused on emerging sectors such as semiconductors, green hydrogen, electric mobility and space manufacturing.

According to official sources, there will be more than 2,500 meetings and a series of seminars on topics of global relevance such as Industry 4.0, technology and innovation and renewable energy.

The most notable activities expected on the day include an India-UAE summit and a meeting of the Indian Prime Minister with CEOs of major global corporations as part of the Global FinTech Leadership Forum.

The day before, in parallel to the event, Modi met with the invited presidents about the possibilities of further expanding relations between the South Asian nation and its countries.

With the President of Mozambique, the Indian dignitary discussed areas of cooperation based on the development of the African nation.

Both explored opportunities in defense, counterterrorism, energy, health, trade and investment, agriculture, water security, mining, capacity development and maritime cooperation.

Modi expressed his firm commitment to supporting Mozambique's development priorities and suggested that the two countries could work to improve air connectivity to promote economic, cultural and people-to-people relations.

Previously, the Indian Prime Minister, in dialogue with President José Ramos Horta, offered Timor-Leste assistance in capacity and human resources development, in the field of information and financial technologies, in the energy sector and in healthcare, including traditional medicine, pharmaceutical industry.

He also invited Horta to join the International Solar Alliance and the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure.
