Lauren Boebert's ex-husband Jayson has been arrested and charged just days after the couple was involved in a domestic violence incident at a Colorado restaurant.
According to court records, Jayson was charged with assault, disorderly conduct, obstructing a peace officer and pointing a firearm.
He was arrested Tuesday and subsequently released, apparently in connection with an incident Saturday with Boebert. Jail records show bail was set at $2,500.
Lauren and Jayson Boebert married in 2005 but separated in 2023. But the couple still made headlines despite a seemingly difficult split.
It's unclear what happened Saturday, but the GOP representative denied claims that she hit Jayson, the father of four of her sons, while eating at Miner's Claim in Silt.
She admitted that she grabbed him to “hold him back” before he called 911.

Boebert's campaign released a statement Sunday saying she “did not hit Jayson in the face and no one was arrested.”
She said: “I will be consulting with my lawyer about the false allegations he has made against me and exploring all of my legal options.”
Police Chief Mike Kite confirmed the investigation Sunday but declined to provide details, including who called police.
Officers planned to talk to witnesses and ask restaurant owners for video that could have captured the incident, Kite said.
The Miner's Claim restaurant issued a statement Monday saying it was cooperating with the investigation.
“From the outset, Miner's Claim has cooperated fully with law enforcement and intends to continue to do so until this matter is resolved,” it said.
Jayson told The Denver Post that he called police Sunday morning to say he didn't want to press charges.

“I don’t want nothing to happen,” Jayson said. “You and I had a difficult conversation.”
Kite would not say whether Jayson Boebert made that call.
“This is a sad situation for everyone and another reason I am moving,” Boebert added in his statement.
Boebert and Jayson married in 2005. They met when she was 16 years old working at McDonald's. He was 22 years old at the time.
But in May 2023, after nearly two decades of marriage, Boebert announced that she had filed for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences.”
She said at the time: “With a heavy burden on my heart, I filed for divorce from my husband.”
“I am grateful for our years of marriage together and for our wonderful children, all of whom deserve privacy and love as we work through this process.”
“I have always been faithful in my marriage and am a strong believer in marriage, which makes this announcement even more difficult.”

Boebert, a Republican who served two terms in the U.S. House of Representatives representing Colorado's west side, announced Dec. 27 that she would switch congressional districts this year to run for a seat representing the state's east side. The seat is vacant with the resignation of Republican U.S. Rep. Ken Buck.
In her current district, Boebert likely would have faced a Democratic challenger who came close to defeating her in the 2022 general election and who would have far surpassed her.
In September, Boebert and a guest were ejected from a musical performance of “Beetlejuice” in Denver after guests complained that they were vaping, singing, using phones and causing a disturbance. She later apologized.
In her relatively short time in Washington, Boebert built a national profile and aligned herself with the far right wing of the Republican Party. Her assertive style has made headlines, most notably when she heckled President Joe Biden during his 2022 State of the Union address.
