Matthew Perry is said to have physically assaulted many women in the years before his death, sources close to the late Friends actor have revealed. One of the women he allegedly assaulted was his ex-fiancée Molly Hurwitz, who he “threw a coffee table at” in 2021 when she confronted him about cheating.

It was also claimed that Perry pushed his partner Morgan Moses against a wall and “threw her onto a bed” during a “meltdown” in March 2022. Perry died at the age of 54 after an overdose of ketamine. He was found dead in a hot tub at his home in Pacific Palisades.

In his memoir “Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing,” Perry called Morgan Moses his “best friend.” He referred to Moses by the pseudonym “Erin.” Her true identity was later revealed.
However, Perry was accused of assaulting Moses, now 37, after which she quit her job as his sober companion. According to the Chron, she then broke off contact with him.

“Morgan stopped working with Matthew. He had a terrible breakdown and couldn't control his emotions in the heat of the moment. He was afraid he would be abandoned,” a source said. “He pushed Morgan against a wall and threw her onto a bed. She left.”
“The man his loved ones knew and the man the world saw were two very different people,” the source added.

Perry and Hurwitz began dating in 2018 and later got engaged. The two decided to separate in 2021 when Perry called off his engagement to Hurwitz. “Sometimes things just don’t work out, and this is one of them,” Perry said in a statement at the time, according to PEOPLE.

It was originally claimed the couple split after Perry started flirting with 19-year-old Kate Haralson on the dating app Raya. However, sources claim that Hurwitz ended their relationship long ago after they argued on Valentine's Day over a romantic gift he bought for someone else he met on a dating app. “He threw a coffee table at her and told her she was crazy,” the sources said. “He hated that she had left him and he had terrible abandonment issues.”

In his memoir, Perry claimed that he proposed to Hurwitz in a rehab facility and later forgot about it. “I bought her a ring because I was desperate that she would leave me,” Perry wrote, without mentioning Hurtwitz's name. “I didn’t want to be so hurt and alone during Covid. I was high on 1,800 milligrams of hydrocodone when I proposed to her. I had even asked for her family’s blessing.”

“Then I proposed as high as a kite. And on one knee,” he added.
After returning to Los Angeles and getting sober, Perry said he was shocked to learn he was engaged and living with her. “I began to realize that I was engaged and living with a wife and two dogs,” he wrote. “Needless to say, I was unprepared for all of this. Do you live with me? We live together?”
“We picked out the kids’ names, the whole nine yards. What was the name of a film I once made? “You got down on one knee to propose, which really hurt your stomach, remember?”
“I couldn’t remember – of course we broke up,” he said.

After Perry's death, Hurwitz wrote on Instagram that she “knew this man in a completely different way.” “Although I loved him deeper than I could understand, he was complicated and caused pain I had never known. No one in my adult life has had a more profound impact on me than Matthew Langford Perry. “I'm very grateful for that, for everything I've learned from our relationship,” she wrote in part, adding at the end: “Matty, I'm relieved that you're at peace,” she wrote.
