“It is an honor to be the first girl group to be featured on a commemorative stamp and we are so proud of everything we have achieved, the SpiceGirls!! Thank you to my family, friends and all our fans around the world for your love and support! Kisses,” wrote Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice) on Instagram.

Emma Lee Bunton (Baby Spice) also wanted to highlight this great premiere.

“Lots of exciting things have happened in my life as a Spice Girl, but this is what made it all!!!! Yes! “The Royal Mail is celebrating 30 years of the Spice Girls by dedicating an entire stamp collection to us – a first for a women's group,” she wrote.

The same goes for singer Mel C (Sporty Spice), who shared this message with her Instagram followers: “How incredible! Being a Spice Girl has given me so many incredible experiences and it's an honor to celebrate some of our most famous moments with a collection of Royal Mail stamps.

Gerri Halliwell Horner (Ginger Spice) added that she was honored to be among “some of music's most famous legends.”

The Spice Girls are the sixth musical group to be the subject of their own stamp issue. This is the first time Royal Mail has dedicated stamps to a female pop group. Other groups include the Beatles in 2007, Queen in 2020 and the Rolling Stones in 2022.

When asked by an internet user whether the stamps needed to be approved by the monarchy, the Royal Mail spokesperson confirmed that they were approved by King Charles III. had been approved.

The five individual stamps show footage from a photo shoot for Spice World, the group's 1997 musical.

The stamps can be pre-ordered and will be available from tomorrow, Thursday 11th January. Several sheets of limited edition collectible stamps are also offered.
