Today there was new mutual bombing on the border between Lebanon and Israel. The Lebanese Hezbollah militia fired several projectiles into northern Israel, the Israeli military said. They fell in undeveloped areas.
The Israeli army bombed the positions where the attacks originated. Additionally, Israeli fighter jets bombed Hezbollah's “terrorist infrastructure” in southern Lebanon, the statement added.
Initially nothing was known in Lebanon about possible victims of the Israeli attacks. Hezbollah announced in Beirut that it carried out several attacks on targets in northern Israel throughout the day. Thus, its fighters used artillery weapons to bomb barracks, positions and meeting points of the Israeli armed forces. Information from both sides cannot currently be verified.
Since the start of the Gaza war on October 7, there have been repeated clashes between the Israeli army and Hezbollah militia on the border between Israel and Lebanon. There have been deaths on both sides. It is the worst escalation since the second Lebanon war in 2006.
