On Saturday (13) a major fire occurred in a Wildberries warehouse, one of the largest ecommerce sites in Russia, in Saint Petersburg.
All employees were evacuated and no one was injured, the warehouse owner said.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, almost 300 firefighters in dozens of cars and even helicopters were deployed to extinguish the fire.
The fire, which broke out in a suburb of Russia's secondlargest city, covered an area of around 70,000 square meters and was classified as the most severe Category 5. Huge black smoke covered the sky (see more photos below).
There is still no information about how the flames started. According to the ministry, the fire department's efforts prevented the fire from spreading further.
