CES 2024: Here's the first Samsung controller that runs on your Smart TV – Journal du geek

Since 2022, Samsung TVs have a new application specifically for gamers. The famous Samsung Gaming Hub allows you to turn the screen into a full-fledged gaming console through the various cloud gaming services offered by industry players. You no longer need an Xbox or PlayStation in your living room to play or even download the latest titles. Users with a fast internet connection only need to launch their favorite games with just a few clicks. In our green lands, Xbox Cloud Gaming, Amazon Luna and GeForce Now stand out as the most reliable and accessible services.

But enjoying it on a Samsung TV requires more than a good connection: using a wireless controller is essential. While it was previously recommended to connect any Bluetooth controller – or to use controllers that specialize in services such as the Xbox or Luna controller – Samsung is starting to produce its own controller alongside the accessories provider PDP Gaming. The company, which specializes in the marketing of charging stations and other multimedia remote controls for consoles, presents its presentation today the Replay controller, which looks like an Xbox Series pad.

An affordable all-in-one controller

Suffice it to say that Samsung and PDP surprise with this new device. On sale for just $49.99, the Replay controller is not a cheap accessory, quite the opposite. By using the effective design of controllers from the Redmond company, manufacturers ensure the comfort of players by following their habits. The layout of the A/B/X/Y buttons as well as the sticks, triggers and even the D-Pad are confused with an Xbox controller. Only the inscription “Designed for Samsung Gaming Hub” on the back distinguishes it from an accessory that was developed for the Microsoft console. So there's nothing better than enjoying the extensive Xbox Game Pass catalog directly on a Samsung TV.

However, The Replay controller also features paddles on the back, a little extra that's generally reserved for the most expensive accessories. We'll also notice a surprising 40 hours of autonomy on a single charge (via a USB-C cable), enough to rival the Nintendo Switch Pro controller. Finally, the Replay thinks of everything and also has buttons for turning on the TV and adjusting the volume. If this accessory catches your eye, know that it is already available for pre-order on the official PDP store and will be launching soon at an as yet unknown date.
