Fans will have to wait another day for the Steelers-Bills AFC wild card matchup.

New York Governor Kathy Hochul and the NFL have agreed to move the game to 4:30 p.m. on Monday instead of 1:00 p.m. on Sunday.

“In consultation with our emergency teams, [Buffalo Bills] Leadership and the NFL, the Bills game will be postponed until Monday at 4:30 p.m.,” the governor said said on Xformerly known as Twitter.

Western New York is expected to experience heavy snowfall in the form of a lake, as well as strong winds, which could make playing in these elements dangerous.

“Due to public safety concerns given the ongoing weather emergency in Western New York, Sunday's Steelers-Bills game has been postponed to Monday at 4:30 p.m. … the decision to postpone the game to Monday was made in consultation with ” New York Governor Kathy Hochul, in the best interest of public safety,” the Bills said in a statement.

Heavy lake snowfall and strong winds are expected this weekend, while snow accumulations in the area could range from 1 to 3 feet. The governor also announced that a complete travel ban would go into effect in Erie County starting Saturday evening at 9 p.m. This isn't the first time in the last 10 years that a Steelers playoff game has been postponed.

In 2017, the divisional round against the Kansas City Chiefs was postponed from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. due to an impending storm. The Steelers won this game 18:16.
