The temperature at DickinsonTheodore Roosevelt Regional Airport in Dickinson, North Dakota, further north in the country, was 36 degrees below zero early this morning. However, the wind caused an exceptionally low thermal sensation of minus 56°C.
At the same time, the thermal sensation in South Florida was 24 ° C, with the southern United States still covered by warmer air before the large amount of cold air arrived from the Arctic.
But the pleasant weather won't last long in the state of Florida. The immense mass of extremely cold air pushing across North America, with low temperatures of 40°C below zero in the United States and minus 50°C in Canada, will reach the state.
Miami, at midday (local time) the temperature this Saturday was almost 30 °C. The temperature in the city should drop at the beginning of the week, but not sharply. The strongest cold will be concentrated in the central northern part of the US state of Florida.
