A fire destroyed 70,000 square meters of land belonging to the Wildberries warehouse in the Russian city of Saint Petersburg, the Russian city's emergency services reported today.

“There were no injuries in the fire that broke out on Saturday morning in the Pushkinsky district of St. Petersburg; the cause was a fault in the electrical wiring. “The company is clarifying the extent of the damage,” the department said.

According to the office, the incident occurred in an area of ​​70,000 square meters and the building collapsed in an area of ​​50,000 square meters.

A video was broadcast on social networks showing the first moments of the fire. Warehouse employees can be seen descending from the upper floors and running towards the exit. In the shot showing the fire breaking out, you can see the upper floors burning in the distance and some goods falling. At one point, one of the employees shouts that they have to get out of there faster because the ceiling is starting to collapse.

The fire spread over an area of ​​70,000 square meters, but firefighters were able to locate it. 270 firefighters and 57 emergency teams are on site. The fire was classified as extinguishing difficulty level five, the highest.

Thanks to the efforts of firefighters, part of the warehouse complex, a substation and the truck parking lot next to the burning facilities were saved from the fire, the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.
