The city of Montreal is resuming operations after starting snow loading following the first low pressure area.
In an interview with TVA Nouvelles, motorists claimed that no snow removal work was carried out following parking bans.
“This year it’s worse than the last two or three years,” says one Montrealer.

“It's been three days since they were supposed to clear the snow. They block the roads, they don't clear snow. We come back in the evening and it's blocked again. It’s hell,” accuses one man.
The city, for its part, uses 2,200 snow removal vehicles and 3,000 employees to carry out the operations.
“We immediately ask you to be vigilant and look outside [pour savoir] when an operation is currently in progress. If an operation is taking place in your district and the pavement is unacceptable, do not hesitate to contact the city,” recommends Montreal city spokesperson Philippe Sabourin.
The latter states that municipalities are not allowed to load snow if the sidewalks are not well cleared.
