The commercial artery of the old capital, located in the Sillery district, was difficult to access after the first low pressure system passed through on Tuesday.

The condition of the sidewalks left something to be desired and parking on the street was not always possible.

This weekend, the City of Quebec told SDC Maguire that the snow load would not begin until Sunday evening.

Despite the delay, a majority of street parking was available to customers.

Piles of snow near the sidewalks are making the situation more difficult, estimates SDC managing director Maguire.

“We are not yet far from the level we want to achieve. “A shopping street is, as I said, an open-air shopping center,” emphasizes Bruno Salvail, making it clear how important it is to make it easier for pedestrians and drivers to access shops.

“We have to find a way that ensures that both parties achieve their goals. We want the road to be flawless.”

This public appearance by Mr. Salvail comes less than a week after people with disabilities complained about the inaccessibility of certain routes, including sidewalks.
