In a blind audition, Ludovick Bourgeois also covered “You will never know”, a great success of his father. He has practically the same voice as him and also resembles him like two drops of water, as Isabelle Boulay, Éric Lapointe – who will become his coach – and Pierre Lapointe noted after pressing their red button.
Despite his talent, Ludovick had imposter syndrome. He talks about the pride his father surely felt watching him triumph at the end of season five in 2017, barely six months before he died of cancer.
“If I put myself in his shoes, I can imagine feeling a sense of pride. The Voice, yes, it's a great achievement for me, but that's not all. I mean, there were many steps that got me to where I am today. I can imagine a feeling of pride when you know how difficult it is to stand out in such an environment and you see your man doing it.”
La Voix Season 10 begins Sunday, January 21 at 7 p.m. on TVA.
