China is committed to more communication in Switzerland to stimulate the economy

Prime Minister Li Qiang will attend the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos while also making an official visit to Switzerland focusing on cooperation in various fields and exchanges on international affairs, the Foreign Ministry reported here.

The 54th edition of the global event, scheduled for this Monday, is themed “Rebuilding Trust” and brings together government representatives from a hundred countries.

As part of his agenda, the Chinese head of government held talks with the President of the Swiss Confederation, Viola Amherd, to whom he emphasized the willingness to strengthen mutual learning, interpersonal dialogue and cooperation with more practical results.

“Switzerland not only has beautiful natural landscapes, but also a good ecological environment, leading innovation and high quality manufacturing. “At present, China is promoting high-quality development and pushing forward modernization with Chinese characteristics,” Li told his counterpart.

He pointed out that Swiss companies have actively participated in the Asian giant's reform and opening-up process over the past 40 years, and both sides have reaped significant benefits from it.

“China's open doors will only open further,” emphasized the Prime Minister and invited Switzerland to participate even more in this development.

According to Xinhua News Agency, the two sides exchanged views on technological innovation, sustainable development, culture and tourism and winter sports and agreed to promote cooperation in related fields.

Regarding Li's agenda in Switzerland, the Foreign Ministry expressed hope that this trip will enhance mutual political trust, strengthen bilateral cooperation and jointly support free trade and multilateralism to deepen the innovative strategic partnership between the two countries.

The Prime Minister will then travel to Ireland on an official visit to strengthen relations in various sectors.
