Emmys 2023 In Memoriam Missing Jerry Springer, Julian Sands and More – Entertainment Weekly News

The late Friends alum Matthew Perry, mystery master Angela Lansbury, sitcom king Norman Lear and dancer extraordinaire Stephen “Twitch” Boss were among the honorees in the 2023 Emmys In Memoriam segment on Monday night during the live broadcast from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. Others, however, were not.

Jerry Springer, Julian Sands, Ray Stevenson, Tom Sizemore, Raquel Welch, Lisa Loring, Al Brown and Charles Kimbrough – all of whom died last year – were not represented in the annual awards segment.

Charlie Puth and The War and Treaty took to the stage to perform a musical tribute to the celebrities we have lost in 2023. The artists played a mix of “See You Again” by Puth and “I'll Be There for You” by the Rembrandts.

The In Memoriam was introduced by Rob Reiner and Sally Struthers, who addressed Lear in particular, saying: “We were part of a very unique family, not just the Bunkers, but the extended family of Norman Lear.”

Other works featured in In Memoriam include Ron Cephas Jones, Treat Williams, Angus Cloud, Lance Reddick, Suzanne Somers, Leslie Jordan, Jim Brown, Bob Barker, Paul Reubens, Kirstie Alley, Andre Braugher, Harry Belafonte, Alan Arkin and Barbara Walters.
