'The Bear' actor and real life chef Matty Matheson gives crazy Emmy acceptance speech

(CNN) – Matty Matheson heated up the Emmys stage on Monday night with a wild acceptance speech that fittingly recognized the hotel industry.

Matheson, a real-life chef who also plays Neil in The Bear (and co-produces the show), took the stage to accept the show's award for best comedy and brought the same enthusiasm to his Emmy moment with how it lights up on the screen.

“I just want to thank the restaurants as a whole and hospitality as a whole,” he said, before being interrupted with a kiss on the lips by his co-star Ebon Moss-Bahrach.

Moss-Bachrach, an Emmy winner on Monday and seemingly caught up in the emotion of the moment, continued the kiss for several seconds. (Was that consensual?)

After recovering, Matheson continued, “I love restaurants, the good and the bad. It is difficult. “We're all broken inside and we have to show up every day and cook and make people feel good by eating something and sitting at a table, and that's really nice.”

He added: “And all of us here together can put on a show, and we can, it seems, make people feel good or anxious or stimulated.”

“The Bear” ranked as the most awarded show this year with a total of 10 awards, including four wins at the Creative Arts Emmys last week.

“There are so many people who put this program together every day and it is truly beautiful.”
