Kyle W. Spitze, 24, was wounded but survived and escaped, while gunman Jeffrey Scott West, 68, barricaded himself in the Tennessee home when SWAT showed up.
Officers are seen trying to negotiate with him as he waves the gun around – but he is later found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot when police send in a K-9.
The new footage was filmed from Spitze's perspective and shows him taking the bullet to the ear before frantically fleeing and waiting for officers outside.
Shocking footage shows the moment a 68-year-old man, identified as Jeffrey Scott West, shot and killed his partner's son, 24-year-old Kyle W. Spitz, during an argument in August
The footage is new and shows what happened inside the Tennessee home before a more than two-hour standoff with police
“I'm getting ready to blow his damn brains out! Right now!” The clip begins with West shouting the threat while Spitze films from his bed.
“Blow my brains out? “Shoot me and I guarantee you’ll go to prison for life,” the future victim replies, filming the older man standing in the doorway.
You can see Spitze's mother Melanie standing between the two men and struggling to defuse the situation.
Meanwhile, West continues to wave and point the gun at Spitze several times as he continues filming the clip in first person.
The mother can then be seen closing the door while Spitze continues filming.
Her lover screams through the closed door: “I'm sick of his shit!” – Then Spitze gets up, opens the door and resumes the conflict.
“Are you going to blow my mother's brains out?” he shouts as the argument spills into a hallway on Quarry Hollow Road.
Meanwhile, Spitze continues filming while his 60-year-old mother tries to keep the men apart. West is still angry and points the gun at Spitze several more times.
The wounded man, Spitze, survived and escaped, while the gunman, West, barricaded himself in the house before encountering SWAT teams and Crisis Negotiations
Negotiations ensued, but West refused to surrender – the footage showed him waving the gun indiscriminately. Police eventually dispatched a K-9 and found the elderly man dead from a self-inflicted gunshot
“Point the gun at me again,” Spitze says at this point, apparently under the pretense that West had the sense not to actually pull the trigger.
However, this assumption ultimately proved wrong – as evidenced by the loud “crack” and unmistakable flash of gunfire that followed.
While he's still filming, Spitze steps back and silently surveys the room.
A period of eerie silence follows, during which Spitze still seems to be contemplating what just happened.
Then his mother gasps – as several drops of blood fall onto the wooden floor.
'Oh dear God! “You’re going to jail,” she continues to scream as West walks away – and Spitze begins to realize what’s happened.
A panic attack quickly occurs, during which the victim runs frantically to the back door of the apartment.

After the shot, several drops of Spitze's blood can be seen falling onto the wooden floor of the house.
He makes it quickly and begins looking through the reflective glass of the door to see the damage.
The clip ends here, but statements from the Blount County Sheriff's Office tell the rest of the story.
They revealed that Spitze and his mother soon met outside again after the gun was fired.
The couple then called 911, which led to officers arriving on scene around 8:15 p.m.
Upon arrival, officers found Spitze and his mother waiting outside and immediately gave the victim first aid.
After he stabilized, he told officers that he and West had been arguing in the apartment and that the armed suspect was still inside.
Sheriff's crisis negotiators and SWAT agents eventually arrived on the scene and attempted to negotiate with West to get him to surrender.
However, those efforts failed after about two and a half hours, and officers finally dispatched a single K-9 just before 11 p.m., a police statement said.
Once inside, the animal was able to tell officers that West was dead. Investigators then went inside and found the man dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Officials later confirmed that West had killed himself and that Spitze had suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his right ear.
His condition remains unknown as of Tuesday, but his newly surfaced footage of the encounter continues to circulate.
No officers were injured. has reached out to both Spitze and the Blount County Sheriff's Office for comment.
