Armed attack in Longueuil: four suspects arrested –

A man in his 30s was hospitalized early Tuesday evening after an attack in the Saint-Hubert district of Longueuil.

Shortly before 5:15 p.m., emergency responders received a call about an alleged armed attack on Losch Boulevard. When they arrived on scene, police found one victim, a man in his 30s, who was injured in the upper body.

“The victim was transported to hospital as a precaution. We would not fear for our lives,” said François Boucher, spokesman for the Longueuil agglomeration police.

The SPAL quickly intercepted a vehicle containing four suspects, two men in their 30s and two others in their 40s.

Officers called in dog handlers who were able to find a firearm in the car.

“The victim and the suspects know each other,” Mr. Boucher added, indicating that the arrested men will be received by investigators in the coming hours.

The latter could be charged with armed assault, assault, threats, carrying weapons for dangerous purposes and extortion.
