Jason Dickinson had a good day signing his contract extension with the Chicago Blackhawks, but luck wasn't on his side in Tuesday night's shootout.
The center was the Hawks' fifth shooter in the shootout, except San Jose Sharks goaltender Mackenzie Blackwood had the upper hand…against his will.

Dickinson hit the post to the left of the goaltender and the puck bounced off his back. Then it came to a quiet stop right at the red line. Blackwood almost caused his own undoing by hitting the puck into the net with his footwork.
Thanks to Boris Katchouk's decisive goal in the ninth, the Blackhawks ultimately won 2-1. Cole Guttman and Ryan Carpenter were the two regular scorers.
