The United States is facing an extreme cold snap, with minimum temperatures reaching 40°C in some regions of the country. Since the beginning of the week, there have been power outages, flight cancellations and even deaths due to snowstorms.
It snowed in New York for the first time in almost two years. In Colorado the thermometer showed 38°C.
“We haven’t been outside in a long time,” said Katie Sizemore, who works at a coffee shop in Briggsdale.
On the other hand, many people used the snow to play. Children and adults were photographed sliding on the ice or building snowmen.
Many North American cities are expected to experience freezing temperatures through the weekend. The forecast suggests that the cold will ease from Monday (22), but temperatures will still be near 0°C.
