After the complaint in the case of the Balocco-Pandoro “Pink Christmas” designed by Chiara Ferragni, doubts also arise about the collaboration with Oreo, the confectionery brand with which the influencer created a limited product line around three years ago with the aim of donating a sum of money to charities purposes. Codacons announced that it had filed a new complaint with the antitrust authority and the judiciary regarding the 2020 operation.

The consumer association also made “a request for access to the confectionery company with the aim of obtaining all the data on the solidarity campaign launched with the influencer”, with the release in 2020 of a capsule “Capsule Collection Limited Edition Chiara Ferragni by Oreo” that Ferragni promoted had on social media. “In these messages addressed to the public – explains Codacons – it was explained that 100% of the proceeds from the sale of these clothes would go to charities for initiatives against the coronavirus.
Codacons request
However, the Oreo company appears to be linked to Ferragni through business relationships, as evidenced by various content published on Instagram by the same influencer, in which Oreo products are sponsored by the specific wording “adv”. Hence the request “to the Oreo company and the government” to see the data on the sales of the capsule collection, the amounts allocated to charitable purposes, the recipients, as well as the method of allocating the donations and the controls carried out on the use of the funds raised.
