Asked about the Nour Shams operation, an Israeli army spokesman, without commenting on the death of the young Palestinian, told AFP that his forces were involved in an operation aimed at “exposing explosive devices hidden under the streets.” were targeted before they responded.

The army entered Nour-Shams, one of the two refugee camps in Tulkarem, “after midnight” on Wednesday night and “destroyed streets and some houses,” said Mr. Alyan.

On one street, an AFP photographer noticed the complete destruction of one house, while several others were badly damaged.

According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, at least 360 Palestinians have died there since October 7, killed by the Israeli army or Jewish settlers.

On Thursday, the Palestinian Red Crescent said it had also been tending to injured people in the Ramallah sector.

The Prisoners' Club, for its part, reports around 6,090 Palestinians who have been arrested for more than three months.

In addition, in Balata (North) camp on Thursday, hundreds of people attended the funeral of one of the five Palestinians killed in an Israeli attack on a vehicle on Wednesday morning.

Israel announced that it had eliminated “a terrorist cell” in that refugee camp through an airstrike on a car.

According to the Hamas Health Ministry, nearly 24,500 people, the vast majority women and minors, have died in the Gaza Strip since October 7 in the war between Israel and the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas.

The attack was triggered by attacks by the Palestinian Islamist movement in southern Israel, which killed 1,140 people on the Israeli side, mostly civilians, according to an AFP count based on official Israeli data.
