Florence Pugh loves Y2K fashion in a sparkly mini dress as she appears in Rachel Chinouriri's cheerful music video for Never Need Me

Florence Pugh embraced Y2K fashion in a stunning ensemble as she appeared in Rachel Chinouriri's new music video for Never Need Me, which was officially released on Thursday.

The 28-year-old Oppenheimer actress, who recently turned heads at the star-studded AFI Luncheon, joined the 25-year-old English singer as she released the latest single from her debut album titled “What A Devastating Turn Of Events.”

As the video progressed, Pugh took on the role of Rachel's best friend who stayed by her side after a breakup.

To begin, the actress and singer were joined by another friend, who took a series of carefree selfies as they lounged in a spacious bedroom.

At one point, Chinouriri showed a photo of a boy she liked and was talking to. However, the clip then cut to a later date in the future and shows the same man apologizing to her front door with cake on his face.

The video then cut to Rachel talking to him on the phone and Florence could be seen in the background.

As she began singing the lyrics, “But it's like a joy to hear your voice again,” Pugh stepped forward and shook his head to dissuade the songwriter from returning to him.

But then Chinouriri opened the door, dressed in a white fluffy strapless top and sparkly hair clips.

The Little Women star stood nearby in the background to support her pal as she rejected her ex-boyfriend as she didn't want to give him another chance.

In the next scene, Rachel was seen struggling with the breakup while trying to move on, singing lyrics like, “Without you on my mind, you can do whatever you want/Like oh no, it's me.” no matter what you do. “Go with your life…”

While she was in her bathroom, she secretly started calling her ex, but Florence quickly rushed in and took the phone away from her.

The couple then shared a funny moment as they both fought over the phone, and at one point the actress was seen hugging Rachel and giving her a friendly kiss on the cheek as she tried to get over the breakup.

A montage then showed Pugh and Chinouriri having fun together while trying on different clothes and reading magazines.

The music video then showed both Florence and Rachel looking chic for a birthday party for one of their other friends.

The Oscar-nominated actress wore a sparkly silver mini dress that was reminiscent of the early 2000s and also featured a plunging neckline at the front.

Her short tresses were styled into spikes and she completed the fun look with a pair of mini rhinestone earrings as well as a gold half heart pendant necklace.

The singer wore a white fluffy crop top and matching mini skirt and also wore a matching necklace, showing the close friendship between her and Pugh.

Another short montage showed Rachel and the other guests at the party dancing and having a great time.

The clip then shows her boyfriend talking to the birthday girl as they hold hands outside on a patio.

Chinouriri and Pugh then went outside with an icing cake and candles in hand, only to see him and her boyfriend kissing.

Florence's mouth fell open in shock as the singer slowly developed a distressed expression.

The actress then blew out the candles and removed each one from the round cake.

Rachel then walked up to the couple, who were kissing, and shoved the cake in her boyfriend's face – revealing that he had frosting on his face this way from the start of the music video.

Then she stalks away, closely followed by Florence. The actress gave the man and friend a humorous look – obviously happy that Rachel had taught him a lesson.

The video ended with the singer-songwriter back at the party while surrounded by other partygoers dancing to the song.

“Just promise me you’ll take it easy/I hope you never need me,” she sang as the song came to a close.

Rachel revealed on her main Instagram page on Thursday that the music video was officially released and also tagged Florence.

“The music video for “Never Need Me” is out now! I put all my heart and soul into this song and am handing it to you on a plate. “Eat up xxx,” she excitedly wrote in the caption.
