According to the head of the Russian occupation unit in the region, 20 other people were injured.
At least 25 people were killed and 20 others injured this Sunday in a Ukrainian attack on a market in Donetsk, a large city in eastern Ukraine under the control of Moscow, according to a new report from the Russian occupation leader in the region. “The data on the consequences of the terrible shelling of the Kirov district is being updated. “There are currently reports of 25 deaths. At least 20 other people were injured, including two children in moderate condition,” he said on Telegram. An earlier report by Moscow-appointed authorities reported 18 dead and 10 injured.
“The market was attacked on Sunday when it was at its busiest,” criticized Denis Pouchiline in an earlier press release. “The operational services are working on the ground, information about the dead and injured continues to be received and verified,” he said.
The city of Donetsk, around 20 kilometers from the front line, came under the control of pro-Russian separatists led by Moscow in 2014 and has been regularly bombed by the Ukrainian army since then. According to the regional authorities appointed by Moscow, four people were killed and 13 others injured, including journalists, in Donetsk on New Year's Eve.
