Top dentist reveals the HUGE problem with Kanye West's new titanium teeth – and reveals the real cost of his '850k' jaws

A leading Australian dentist has revealed why Kanye West may have serious regrets about his bizarre titanium teeth makeover.

The 46-year-old rapper shocked fans on Wednesday after showing off a set of Bond villain-style titanium prosthetics on Instagram.

Kanye also claimed that he had his teeth removed and replaced with the appliance to create the new permanent look – which a source said he designed himself.

However, says Dr. Sam Koh, a leading cosmetic dentist who works as head dentist at Dental Boutique, said Kanye's new smile is a cause for grave concern.

According to Dr. According to Koh, Kanye might find it difficult to clean his new face mask properly, which could lead to a number of problems, including infections.

“Although it was reported that the dentist gave him customized equipment to clean his teeth, such a bulky, one-piece device will be difficult to clean,” he explained.

“Microscopically, a lot of food, bacteria and debris gets under the titanium, which can then lead to bad breath, sensitivity, tooth decay and gum problems such as disease and infection if the titanium is present long-term.”

Dr. Koh believes that Kanye probably shaved his teeth and glued the titanium dentures on them rather than completely removing his teeth.

The remaining portion of the teeth will move over time, causing destruction of the adhesive that holds the titanium in place.

This deterioration creates “micro gaps” where bacteria and rot can form over time.

“This would then either cause the bridge to become loose over time, or worse, cause tooth decay, infection and disease, with the bacteria then being able to invade the teeth,” he warned.

If left untreated, the tooth decay could spread and cause serious gym illness, forcing Kanye to undergo multiple root canals due to dental infections and possibly even having all of his teeth completely removed.

Dr. Koh also worries that Kanye may have difficulty eating as the surfaces of his new mouthpiece are flat and bulky – making it difficult to tear and chew food.

“They also appear quite bulky cosmetically and could alter his facial appearance and soft tissue structure and would also affect the way he speaks, sings and raps,” he added.

Elsewhere, Dr. Koh told Chron Australia that, as previously reported, Kanye's teeth are unlikely to be worth $850,000.

“Practically and clinically speaking, the titanium, the work both at the dentist and in the lab to make the 'teeth' wouldn't cost nearly as much,” he said.

“It's really hard to put a value on something so unique, but if someone were to make something like this in Australia it would cost at most A$100,000 or less!”

Kanye's new dentures were designed by Dr. Thomas Connelly in Beverly Hills together with Naoki Hayashi, master dental technician.

Connelly told last week: “It's been a pleasure working on every step of the process.” His vision for creating unique art goes beyond dental advancements. Combining his vision with dentistry has created a new look that is epic!'
