“Everyone’s Talking About It” was back this Sunday, January 21st, after a long holiday break.
There were a lot of people in the studio for the rest of season 20. Among the guests we found, among others, part of the cast of the series Lakay Nou, Louis Morissette and certain stars of the documentary Being Ado, members of the new Montreal team of the Professional Women's Hockey League, as well as the minister… Christian Fournier! At least that's how Guy A. Lepage introduced La Prairie member Christian Dubé.
Apparently it only took a few seconds for viewers on social media to point out the mistake. See some comments at the end of the article. After the break, the host immediately apologized to the person most affected.
“Mr Dubé, not only did I rename you, I also called you Christian Fournier, and worse, I don’t know any Christian Fournier,” he said. The guest replied: “I called in the meantime to find out whether there was a change of minister.”
We point out that in the Quebec cultural landscape there is still the screenwriter and director Yves Christian Fournier, who could have confused the presenter.
Please note that this is not the first time that Guy A. Lepage's language has gone awry during a political interview with Tout le monde en parole. We will remember this slip of the tongue that greatly amused the Internet in 2022.
Note that some viewers also reacted to the host's comment at the start of the show, when he told his co-host Kim Lévesque-Lizotte, after mentioning Garden Party, that she was “so much more” than a Michèle Richard. This then made clear the departure of Serge Laprade.
Remember that last Monday Guy A. Lepage filmed a special program to mark the 20th anniversary of Tout le monde en parole. The studio brings together personalities who have shaped the show since its beginnings. Among others, Véronique Cloutier mentioned on the radio that she would be at the party. The presenter was part of the first edition of the show in 2004 and replaced Guy A. Lepage once in 2006. She also visited the set as a guest more than ten times. Please note that the 500th broadcast of Tout le monde en parole will be broadcast on Sunday March 10th.
