Expend4bles tops this year's not-so-coveted list of Razzie Award nominations and has seven chances to take home a dubious honor.
Close behind were “The Exorcist: Believer” and “Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey,” which each received five nominations.
“In the wake of strikes, the persistence of a global plague and a general sense of universal agoraphobia, the decline of the cinematic experience is self-evident,” Razzie organizers said in announcing today’s nominations. “Luckily, a puppet picture and a bombshell movie galvanized The Industry, who still left a trail of Pooh for the Razzies to pick up on!”
This year's acting nominees include former Oscar winners Jon Voight, Russell Crowe and Dame Helen Mirren, as well as Razzie repeat offenders Sylvester Stallone, Megan Fox and Jennifer Lopez.
The results were determined by the votes of Razzie members (1,179 film fans, film critics and journalists from 49 U.S. states and two dozen foreign countries). Five top candidates were selected in each of the nine categories. The 44th annual Razzie “winners” (for which there will literally be no red carpet) will be revealed on the now-traditional “Oscars Night” on Saturday, March 9th.
