People across the country believe a game in Las Vegas is rigged, and it's not about slot machines or cards.
A popular conspiracy goes that in recent years the Super Bowl logo has predicted which teams will take part in the competition.
After a decade of unusual Super Bowl logos, the NFL brought color back into design with Super Bowl LVI for the 2021 season. The logo featured warm reds, oranges and yellows for the game at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. Wearing yellow pants, the hometown Los Angeles Rams beat the orange and black Cincinnati Bengals for the title.
The next year, the NFL released a colorful desert-themed logo for Super Bowl LVII in Glendale, Arizona. The red of the Kansas City Chiefs and the green of the Philadelphia Eagles were among the hues in the logo, and in the end the Chiefs beat the Eagles to win their second Super Bowl in four seasons.
A day after the Chiefs won the Lombardi Trophy, the NFL unveiled the logo for Super Bowl LVIII. The design focuses entirely on Las Vegas, where the game will take place for the first time in its history on February 11, 2024.
The purple and red logo highlights the bright lights of the city – and the colors of the top two teams of the 2023 regular season.
The Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers could face off next month at Allegiant Stadium. The teams have secured first place in their respective conferences and will be on their home courts during the conference championship games on Sunday.
Should the Ravens beat the Chiefs and the 49ers beat the Detroit Lions, it would not only be a rematch of Super Bowl XLVII, but also the third consecutive year that the Super Bowl teams' colors would be featured in the Super Bowl logo.
Two is a coincidence and three is a pattern. As the favorites take care of business on their home courts in Sunday's conference championship games, the conspiracy will only grow.
