The official cause of death of Dana Carvey's eldest son Dex has been announced.
The aspiring comedian died suddenly on November 15, 2023. He was 32 years old.
The LA County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed Tuesday that Dex Carvey died from a deadly combination of fentanyl, ketamine and cocaine.
His death is listed as an accidental death, according to the report.
Dex Carvey was an aspiring comedian whose most notable gig was as the opening act for his father's 2016 Netflix special Straight White Male.
That same year, he also appeared in the short film “Carpool Pandering” directed by F. Clint DeNisco alongside Dana.
On November 15, emergency responders found Dex Carvey lifeless in a locked bathroom after his girlfriend, Kaylee, called for help.

The 68-year-old Wayne's World actor and his wife Paula confirmed their son's death in November with a heartbreaking message on Instagram.
“Last night we experienced a terrible tragedy. Our beloved son Dex died of an accidental drug overdose. He was 32 years old,” they wrote.
“Dex has packed a lot into these 32 years. He was extremely talented in so many things – music, art, filmmaking, comedy – and pursued them all with passion.

“It's no exaggeration to say that Dex loved life,” the “SNL” alum explained. “And when you were with him, you loved life too. He did everything for fun. But most of all he loved his family, his friends and his girlfriend Kaylee. Dex was a beautiful person.”
“His handmade birthday cards are a treasure,” they continued. “We will miss him forever.”
The couple concluded their statement by extending their “prayers” to “anyone who struggles with addiction or loves someone who struggles with addiction.”
Days after his son's death, Dana Carvey thanked fans on social media for their support during this time.

“This is just a thank you,” the former “Saturday Night Live” comedian wrote in a Nov. 18 Instagram post. “My wife and I were overwhelmed by your love, your personal stories, your compassion.”
According to TMZ, law enforcement sources reported that first responders rushed to his Los Angeles home around 10 p.m
Paramedics attempted to revive him but were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
