The former minister of the Civic Center José Dirceu, in an interview with CNN Brasil, defended the reelection of Lula (PT) and expressed his determination to return to the public debate.
“I will speak publicly now. From this year I will take part in the public debate,” he said, after explaining that he had no expectations of joining the current PT government.
The former minister also presented his project idea to allow progressive forces a permanent cycle at the top of governments and expressed confidence if the current President of the Republic decides to run for reelection. “In 2026 we will reelect Lula,” he declared.
Dirceu gave the interview to the journalist director of the channel's Brasília department, Daniel Rittner, and the presenter Tainá Falcão. The special program “CNN Interviews with José Dirceu” will be broadcast on Thursday (25th) from 11 p.m.
